Speaker: Matthijs Soede - European Commission
Amongst other responsibilities, Matthijs Soede is the ocean energy lead within the Commission’s Directorate General for Research & Innovation. He will outline what the Comission’s expectations are for wave energy and take questions from the audience.
10:45 - 11:15 Phase 1 learnings & Phase 2 plans
Speakers: AMOG Consulting, Arrecife Energy Systems, CETO Wave Energy Ireland, IDOM Consulting, Mocean Energy
Each developer will reflect on their experiences with Phase 1, with a view to identifying the lessons that could be learnt for all parties. They will also briefly update the audience on their plans and progress for Phase 2.

14:00 - 14:30 Floating wind and wave – shared and mutual benefits
Speaker: Tim Hurst – Wave Energy Scotland
The integration of wave and floating offshore wind has the potential to deliver mutual technical and socio-economic benefits. Tim will present WES's recent exploration of these opportunities through physical and numerical modelling of shared support structures and a socio- and techno-economic study into sharing of infrastructure, services and supply chains.

The array of available European funding can be overwhelming at times. Donagh Cagney will give a high level overview the most interesting opportunities as well as the key points for those considering applying.

Speakers: WES + EVE
EuropeWave will only take wave energy technology to a certain point. A follow-on programme will be needed. With the objective of ensuring a smooth transition to the next programme, EuropeWave partners have already started to think about what a successor programme could look like.

EuropeWave is about collaboration – both between EuropeWave participants but also with the wider sector. This structured break out discussion will focus on a few key areas where there is the greatest scope to learn from each other and to collaborate in the future.
