EuropeWave introduces its 7 wave energy projects at the first Annual Conference
The first EuropeWave Annual Conference was held online on 22 Feb and introduced the 7 wave energy projects selected for the programme. The conference served as a showcase for the Phase 1 projects in EuropeWave’s Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) funding programme, selected following a strong response to the initial call for tenders. Project leaders shared their project concepts and discussed how to accelerate the commercialisation of the wave innovations.
EuropeWave’s successful wave energy projects unveiled
Following a strong response to the initial call for tenders, seven successful project teams have been selected by a panel of independent experts and will share a budget of €2.4 million to further develop their wave energy device concepts in the first half of 2022.
EuropeWave is seeking independent experts
EuropeWave is looking for independent experts to take part in the assessment of applications to its PCP programme. These experts will provide an impartial assessment of the technical and commercial aspects of applications, both to the first phase and the subsequent stages of the programme. They will take part in evaluation committee meetings, and provide feedback and analysis of the applications.
Online information session to guide applicants
To complement the opening of the EuropeWave Request for Tenders, an online information session was held on 13 July. The recording and slides are now available to view. The webinar was aimed at potential applicants, and provided a detailed explanation of the tender requirements, as well as guidance on the application process. Attendees were also able to ask questions to the project team.
EuropeWave’s innovative wave energy tender now open
The EuropeWave project is inviting wave energy developers to apply for funding via its innovative pre-commercial procurement (PCP) programme. The five-year collaborative programme opened its competitive call for tenders today, which will see several wave energy projects selected for the first stage of ‘concept development’.
Online brokerage tool available to support build consortia building
A free-of-charge brokerage tool is now available for all potential EuropeWave participants until 20 July, to make it easier for applicants to find the right partners.
PCP Survey: Influence the design of the EuropeWave tender
The EuropeWave project is calling for input into the design of its forthcoming tender, via an online survey. Companies and individuals active in the wave energy sector are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposed design, to make sure it is tailored to the needs of the sector.
Call for wave energy developers to have their say on EuropeWave tender
The project is calling on wave developers to give input into its Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP), a tender which will open in June 2021. Wave energy developers can find out more about the planned process and are invited to register their interest in the future tender via a Prior Information Notice (PIN). On 26 April, a consultation webinar will be held to allow direct feedback and questions from participants.
EuropeWave announced by Scottish & Basque energy ministers
Scottish Minister for Energy, Connectivity and the Islands, Paul Wheelhouse, and Basque Minister for Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment, Arantxa Tapia announced the EuropeWave initiative during a joint interview at OEE2020.
