Arrecife’s Trimaran concludes its technology advancement and biofouling analysis

Throughout Phase 2, Arrecife focused on two lines of work: improving the components of the technology and conducting determinant laboratory tests. The technology advancement involved mooring lines as well as electrical and control systems. In terms of testing, Arrecife carried out studies to enhance the shoaling effect and characterise turbine performance and interaction to increase the energy production performance of the device. These key milestones were reached by the end of Phase 2. Arrecife also analysed the biofouling testing under real conditions, which was a significant step forward for the long-term maintenance of the equipment.
