Advancing Wave Energy: Carnegie's CETO Technology in EuropeWave

Carnegie's CETO wave energy converter technology continues to make significant strides within the EuropeWave project, in preparation for the deployment at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP) in 2025. Detailed design for the majority of core subsystems and components is nearing completion, enabling the procurement and fabrication of key components, which is already in progress. Commercial and technical details relating to the berth are being finalised with BiMEP.

Preparations for testing at project partner VGA are proceeding as planned, with both belt and drivetrain testing scheduled across the coming months. This rigorous testing phase will validate the performance and reliability of critical CETO system components prior to deployment.

The ACHIEVE team has also been actively engaged in a number of communication and dissemination activities to raise awareness of the project and its potential to contribute to Europe's renewable energy goals.
