Advancing Wave Energy: IDOM’s MARMOK-A-5 Technology in EuropeWave

IDOM moves closer to the offshore deployment of the MARMOK-A-5 prototype next summer at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP).

IDOM shared updates on phase 3 of the EW project, highlighting significant progress towards the planned offshore deployment next summer. Key activities include the successful completion of main inspections for the MARMOK-A-5 prototype, the finalization of the mooring system and umbilical cable routing design, and the completion of the PTO design and wind tunnel testing at Mondragon University. Upcoming laboratory tests will focus on the PTO mechanism and electric generator. Additionally, notable advancements have been made in defining the control strategy, particularly in identifying sea states using machine learning algorithms. Overall, the project is on track for prototype deployment at BiMEP next summer.
